The Thuringian porcelain factory Scheibe-Alsbach, founded in 1835, achieved international fame within a few decades. By 1850, its figurine collections were so popular due to their artistic quality that Scheibe-Alsbach was the only Thuringian factory capable of producing porcelain figurines in large quantities. Then, as now, the Scheibe-Alsbach porcelain pieces were produced entirely by hand, with the factory benefiting from its carefully preserved collection of molds. The artists are also masters of bisque figurines. The range ranges from depictions of gallant scenes to historical figures, with scenes from the life of Napoleon being particularly well-known. Selected raw materials, a high-quality special porcelain base and improved glazing techniques allow even the smallest details to be created.
